"Conversations from St. Norbert College" featuring Gwen Ifill

Gwen Ifill, moderator and managing editor of Washington Week with Gwen Ifill and senior correspondent of the PBS NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, will be the guest on the September "Conversations from St. Norbert College" television show hosted by Michael Marsden. They will discuss the contemporary state of politics.

Upon graduation from Simmons College in Boston, Ifill went to work at the Boston Herald-American where she discovered her passion for journalism, covering desegregation busing in the 1970's. Later she worked for the Baltimore Evening Sun, The Washington Post and The New York Times. After those assignments she switched to broadcast journalism and began working as chief congressional and political correspondent for NBC News, along with her former boss, the late Tim Russert. Her first book, "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama," was published in 2009 and was a best seller.

Ifill also moderated the Vice Presidential debates during the Presidential elections in 2004 and 2008.
