  • Does this work with a iphone 4? I hear yes and no, any definitive answer?

  • @gasitman

I have the definitive answer, it will not work with an iPhone 4. You'll need a newer Kenwood such as the DNX-6980 that definitely is compatible with iPhone 4. Check it out at The Crutchfield Website.

  • Looks great. Question; I have 02 Trailblazer that has on-star. I dont use on-star, but because it has a mic built in, could it be wired to that so I dont have to use the external one ?

  • @jwjohnson11

The factory microphone probably does not have the right kind of connection to plug it into an aftermarket stereo. So, if you can find the wire (our tech support can help with that if you purchase from Crutchfield) and figure out how to attach a 1/8" jack to it you might be able to use it with a new Bluetooth stereo.

It would probably be much easier to get a BT radio that comes with an external mic, and install that in above the windshield.

  • i have a 2005 civic specail edition coupe, i also have 2 12" mephis subs and a 500 watt amp, should everything hoookup corectally? i am going to get it profesionally installed after i oreded it

  • @Neald630

The DNX-6960 will fit perfectly into the dash of your Civic with an installation kit and wiring harness. Both the kit, the harness, and the Crutchfield Mastersheet instructions are free when you buy the DNX-6960 from Crutchfield.

This Kenwood also has all the pre-amp outputs you'll need to connect your current amp, and then some.

  • This guys tone makes me sleepy.

  • @crutchfieldtv I found out the issue. The installer installed a bypass switch for the parking break and it was set to "ON." I figured that ON meant it was in bypass mode so it would bypass the parking break. Apparently ON means the opposite. When I flipped the switch to OFF and the address book touchscreen icon became active along with some other things. I was told on the Kenwood forums the bypass switch is unnecessary and there's a better work around. We love the unit. 5/5 stars.

  • @achalmers

It should automatically do this. There is not a way to send your contacts manually, it should just do it. Make sure you have a current BT model, and not an older KCA-BT100 which will not allow for the phonebook to download with the iPhone. Other than that, I would reset the phone and the radio and then try to repair the phone, if you have a lot of contacts (over 1500) the BT may take several minutes to download the contacts.

    I hope that helps,

  • How long does it take to automatically download the address book from an iPhone 3G/3GS? Is there a way to force the download of the address book manually if auto download doesn't work?
