@RLCH26 Also if you like Hans ZImmer, you might enjoy the guitarist Jason Becker. Search for Jason Becker - End of The Beginning. He had ALS disease and composes with his eyes now that he is paralyzed.

@RLCH26 A good melody can exist but I have yet to hear a piece of electronic music that is as influential as say the Beatles or Bob Dylan. I stil find electronic music to be void of human quality. You don't hear the strings on the guitar or the hum of the amp. And the whole live performance aspect is not there. Improvisation is perhaps one of the most exciting parts of music and anyone who plays an instrument knows this. This is why I find classical guitarists who just memorize pieces boring.

@3510211 well, I agree with you, but it depends on the composition. For example it is not the same the pop shit in TV shows that a techno made for Hans Zimmer if he decides to make it, you notice it in the melody, harmony and musical intentions... remember that the music can be transposed from techno to metal or rock, or viceversa... the sonority is different, but the chords and notes are there and can be arranged to your tastes, so a good melody or chord progression can exist in any genre IMO.

@RLCH26 But yeah I enjoy listening to electronic music in clubs. Some of it is rather good. Moby - In This World and Paul Kalkbrenner - Dockyard...two amazing tracks. But for the most part, mainstream electronic music is bubblegum garbage.

@RLCH26 I agree man and its absolutely not. I actually play guitar. I enjoy blues like Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton, gypsy jazz like Django Reinhardt, Joscho Stephan, and shred like Joe Satriani, Jason Becker, and of course songwriters like The Beatles and Bob Dylan.
Screwing around with house music like that has helped me figure out software and music production more. Its just a hobby though, nothing I am going to make a career out of.

@3510211 dont say please that that video called "work in progress" is the representation of your true talent... that would be a dissapointment. That pop basic and repetitive shit is so easy to make...
-
@3510211 well, please try to compose something like that. Or show us your big talent with your true music (because you say there is true and fake music...), please iluminate us god of the music with you omnipresent talent.

@3510211 I think it is a limited thought. So, if you learn keyboard, you are a keyboard player, then you cant think as a guitarrist... that is your logic. I dont believe in absolute subjective affirmations.

@RLCH26 lol @ your nexus techno video. Come back when you have a grasp of actual music.

@RLCH26 Um different embellishments on a guitar. Different scale, mode, chord, and arpeggio patterns. Different approach to chord melody. You cant simply play a chord with one hand and a melody with the other. Did I say special musical gift? No I didn't. I am just acknowledging the differences between the instruments.
I'm SO TIRED of seeing always the type of demos , always SOLOs on ROCK MUSIC ....
Can we see something a bit more smooth , some short riffs on jazz and soul music from the 70s ? FOR A CHANGE .....
