They want to take your grandparents $865 Soc. Sec. ck. to start more Wars and spend billions more on old Cold War Weapons. We're spending over $700 billion now! Up 250 billion from 2003. The US spents 10x more than Russia spents and 6x more than China spends And we no longer call them enemies.
Its clear they want the Military to spend less on its troops,be it health care, school programs, etc benefits for risking your life for your nation.Which would be consider robbery by these peeps...right.
Anyway, these peeps seem to want less of the Military budget to be spent internally(troops pay, troops benefits, etc) and instead use that money externally.Weapons, parts, paints, boots, uniforms you name it.
we don't care about social program wasteful spending, it's defense spending (you know the part of the federal budget that's actually in the constitution) that needs to be reigned in.
also the 2000's called and they want their child drug dealers off the street, they want the welfare moms out of their neighborhoods, they want their medicaid-scamming doctors out of their cities. gov't creates more problems than it solves.
you're getting the diffusion of responsibility arguement backwards. when we put all of these programs in place people then see people in need and do nothing about it BECAUSE they know in the back of their mind or think that there is a gov't program to address that, so they do nothing. before the 1940's and especially '60's people knew the gov't was not going to help them out so they helped EACH OTHER. even as bad as the depression was, people helped each other through it.
seeing someone buy food with foodstamps, wearing shoes that cost more than the whole cart of food thay have is sickening, along with welfare rcepients receiving a helluva lot better health care than i get paying through the nose for,and getting more and more tacked on(cash, medicaid, stamps) for every kid they have(and keep having)not to mention the absolutely sickening practice of "earned income credit",they pay in $500 in taxes and get a $4,000 refund?!wtf?
Really? The 1900s called and they want the child gangs off the streets. In psychology it's called diffusion of responsibility, where a person being beaten in a street in broad daylight nobody tries to stop it. They just think somebody else will call the cops or break it up. Same thing with the homeless, orphans, poor. If the government doesn't bear the burden nobody does and you have crime, loss of opportunity and broken families.
TD8-Perhaps you've thrown Jesus' teachings under the bus as it is our PERSONAL responsibility to take care of widows, orphans, elderly, and the poor. It's not for us to just pay taxes and let the gov't handle it for us whatever way the congress-du-jour thinks best. Besides, with more people fraudulently depleting the system, the people who truly need benefits are the ones who end up getting reduced, if any, assistance.

I knew I should have waited before rating it (I gave it a "Worth Watching"). How is this a myth about military spending? It sounds pretty peripheral.
