* Two videos were made. One of the promos showed Bush and Gabriel hugging for the duration of the song. Co-director Kevin Godley recalled in Q Magazine August 2008: "There wasn't a sexual connotation, just one of mutual support. But the song isn't sentimental or nostalgic, just incredibly moving."

* Gabriel: "The basic idea is that handling failure is one of the hardest things we have to learn to do."

* Peter Gabriel's then-wife Jill told Q Magazine that she inspired this song. She said: "It's about us. When (Peter) gets into one of his deep depressions, I am always saying, Don't give up."

Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush at their best...this song is so hauntingly beautiful--and so is the video. I loved this song for so many years and the lyrics resonate in my heart. I think everyone who is going through pain or a challenge in their life could beneit from listening to this song. For those of you out there who are experiencing sadness, doubt about yourself, please don't give up, things will get better soon.

This song was an instant classic referral to feeling good for the soul when I felt like I hadn't accomplished much of anything. It's been my "pick me up" song for nearly 25 years! I loved it then and I love it now. This is what you get when you apply two talented voices together and a simple message. Pure perfection!
