I like racks. Especially the huge ones. I'll leave that up to you to interpret.

@tgsquier Both are great, I had the BDDI and the PDDI, for a long time. Tech21 makes great products.

@Mightypaul Yes, totally. Now then, I have the RBI, and the RPM, which I use for bass because I find I don't need that presence knob but love the variable mid-range of the RPM. It makes all the difference trying to fit your tone where guitars aren't. It's the same chassis for both the RBI and RPM...just that one difference. What do you guys think?

@tgsquier I guess what I was trying to say when I made that comment was that if he went straight into FX return it would bi pass the amps pre, and he could use it strictly as a power amp, and EQ his sound only with the RBI.
-
@travcowle Some heads have a power amp input, which may be preferable. Or you may want to run through 2 pre's, in a case where your head pre gives you better EQ options but you still want the sans-amp growl. The problem of the 50/50 dedicated return is that it buffers the effect to mix with the dry signal...it may not be giving you pure sans-amp tone, but buffered tone. But, you are totally right, in that it may work just fine. Whatever's clever. I swear by Tech 21!! Love 'em!
-
@tgsquier that is the way they are designed to be run. you can run it another way, BUT your just running two preamps. an fx loop with 50/50 will be fine, it will still go strait to the power amp section you just may need to boost the output of the sansamp a little more
-
@travcowle You're not wrong, but also not right. The bombity thing about the sans-amp is that it's very flexible. So, there are no "should"s. If you run it into your fx return, that's cool...unless your fx return is a dedicated 50/50. If your amp has a power amp in on it, that would work too. Or, just get a monster bad-ass rack power amp, like you'd find in a P.A. Crown, QSC, even a Peavey (I know, but) will work. Just get a fat one, for bottomus maximus. When the room flexes, you're good!

@sartaajhussain Y-y-y--you meant...like...on a deer, right?

@Mightypaul I tried to reply to your question also, but I guess I replied to WMS's reply to you...so...ummm...yeah...look down a spot or two...cheers.

@WorkingManStudios Not entirely true...no offense bro. If he wanted, he could totally run it in the effects loop, provided the acoustic amp has an fx loop. But what he is doing here is using the RBI as a true preamp, aka.- what is producing his main bass tone. He is using it "in line" and "up front". Now, both channels of the BBE? Why? They do the same thing, right? Same parameters? Careful how much your boosting or your acoustic amp will barf. Are you just using the acoustic's power amp? Try.
this is the most informational video ive seen .. thanks allot bro im kindof a noob at this rack thing is there anyway u can put up a vidoe how to connect everything???? maybe the 4 cable method?

how well has the acoustic b600h amp held up? Do you play out alot? I have read alot of stories of people saying that they don't hold up or blow up.Just curious.

@jayrod49: it works fine for me. i have had no problems with it. id rather have an ampeg but its good for the price.

How come you dont have your Sansamp and BBE in the effects loop of you head?
Mightypaul 1 year ago
@Mightypaul: Because they are designed to be infront of the amp.
