Across America in 8 Minutes is another flight I've recorded. This time, the flight is CO1400 Continental Airlines Boeing 737-900 from Southern Florida, Fort Lauderdale, to the huge city 1710 kilometers or 1060 miles further north. New York. The flight time today was 2 hours 30 minutes and it was a pretty nice and smooth flight. The pilots even got clearence to have a shorter route than planned, so they had to fly in a lower altitude to burn fuel, just so we could get the correct weight before we touched down at runway 22L at Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey. If you look closey during the approach, you can see manhattan in the horizon. This day was a really stressing one. The flight we was ment to be on, was 4 hours delayed, and that would have done so that we wouldn't have reached our second flight this day over the atlantic back to Europe with Virgin Atlantic flight VS002. Therefore we got some other tickets, to another very delayed aircraft. This aircraft was supposed to be airborne 3 hours before, but the time it was delayed from it's original departure time, made this departure 1400 only half an hour later than our original departure with flight 1609. So after some moving around among the gates, we finally got onboard the brand new 737 at gate 2 at terminal C. This flight streches from far south to far north in the United States, pretty much Across America. Please enjoy your flight.
NOTE: A question I've got here after watching this vid after I came back to Norway is: The plane took off just a couple of seconds before you can see the end of the runway, in this video the ussual two thirds of the runway doesn't count Here it's more like nine tenth of the runway before we left the ground?
across america means east coast to west coast
