@CavalloDiSpade True. But, internal monologues can work out given the proper wording and descriptive text. Obviously, that didn't really happen here. Still, it wasn't enough for me to dislike the Cycle.
-
@lycanfan Yeah. I think the main problem would be the fact that the series relies so heavily on Corwin's and Merlin's internal musings, something that doesn't translate well to visual media.

@CavalloDiSpade First off, wow, that trailer was great. Wow.
Anyway, while it could be done, I think that it shouldn't. The series is fine in a non-visual format, in out imaginations.

@lycanfan While I'd tend to agree, I think that an animated version MIGHT be able to be pulled off. It would require top noch animation, but if it were done like, for example this: /watch?v=R2H_FsmxWzc , (which by the way took 7 years to make), i think it could be pulled off.

@BankaiGrimmjow The name Oberon has been around since before Amber. The name has been classically pronounced several ways including Oh-bur-on, Oh-Brawn, and Aw-bur-on. I would highly advise doing some research on the subject.

The king of Ambers name is pronounced (Oh-Brawn) Did you get that though you your fucking head?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

@Mikkedev at least 100 years. Personally, I think TCoA should remain in book format only.

@jeannaegirl Nice. Glad to see I had an impact. Or rather that the book(s) had an impact.
Zelazny was one of the greatest writers of speculative fiction ever. Period. However the "Merlin Cycle" as you call it was spotty and uneven compared to the "Corwin cycle" and only really took on life in the final book, IMHO. I haven't read them in years, but I recall a number of threads being left undone in the storyline. I think RZ had been diagnosed with cancer by the time he was writing the final book and wanted to end things.

@CoyoteBuddy Oh god. I didn't know about Zelanzy being diagnosed with cancer. That's a bit of a shocker for me.
Anyway, thinking back on the books, I can what you mean on the Merlin Cycle. It didn't come together properly until the finale.
