I really couldn't care less what genre they are part of, but I'd say they're more math rock than indie. Indie is more acoustic and indie bands can be compared to others. But I don't think Foals really are alike to any other indie bands, if any bands, they're more like Crystal Fighters etc. Therefore, math rock.

I agree with lozzybozzy. If you consider the actual definition of 'indie' music, these guys are technically indie, seeing as they are on an independent record label (Transgressive records). Sure, they're not typical indie pop, and not all indie bands are actually on independent labels. That's why indie is such a general term and really means nothing. I bet Foals don't even care that they're being labelled as indie. It doesn't matter in the big picture.

@Frenchkisssss Des groupes/ artistes "indie" ou independant en anglais sont dans des petits labels peu connus (Transgressive Records pour Foals par exemple), ils ont peu de contraintes vis à vis de leurs choix musicaux voilà pourquoi on dit qu'ils sont indépendants.
