  • A qüestion about th Dance in the video?

Why does not the people close the circles while dancing?

  • Interesting question...As a know the greek dances are rarely or never danced in a close circle. Maybe because there is almost everytime a person considered the best dancer in front of the row. He or she should make some special figures during the dance. If the circle is closed, would not be a leader anymore. An other observation is that the greeks don't dance in couple.(there are some isolate places in Greece where it happen to be some dances in couple, but only a few)

Io n-am vazut in Romania manele dansate asa. ca gen prima melodie e intr-adevar o "manea" .In Grecia se numeste tsifteteli.

  • Tasso bougas re??? giati giati??

  • Ti sou exeis kanei is the first song- mazonakis

  • I can not seem to remember the name of the first song the two women are dancing to can any one help?

  • What is clear in these ladies (and why they look so good compared to just about every other Greek dancers I have seen) is that they can use nice body/hip action and so they do not hop a lot in their steps. They incorporated the body/hip action technique of latin ballroom dancing (rumba and cha cha cha) in their steps.

Greek dancing has lots of jerky hopping and it can be smoother and look so much better when done this way.

  • Thanks or the info! =)

  • it's one traditional greek dance that we have..and the most of these require people to make circles and dance all together

  • Maneaua turceasca; Τσιφτετέλι nu are nici o legatura cu maneaua. Orit de mult ar fura manelistii analfabeti melodii grecesti.

    Τρελαθήκανε οι κότες!
