What's next, going from Rebels to something else? I'm a Tennessee fan but I fully support Ol Miss getting Colonel Reb back on the field and Dixie being played by the band again. Need to quit letting Political Correctness getting in the way of Tradition.

I've got a question."Supposedly", Col. Reb was based off of a black man named "Blind Jim Ivy". Rather, it's what I've been told by various Black Bear acquaintances; without legit literature to back up their claims, mind you. I call it damage control. Either way, if Col. Reb was IN FACT based off of Blind Jim, then why in the fuck is Col. Reb white? Even IF Col. Reb WASN'T based off of a plantation owner, it's just as racist to change the race of the guy he's supposedly taken from.

For Ole Miss to change their image they have to change the people that attend and follow the school. You can take away Dixie, Colonel Reb and the Confederate flag, but the fact of the matter is that myself and other students and alumni will raise our kids to love the Rebels, so the culture of Ole Miss will never change. I love Ole Miss with all my heart just like everyone who supports the school and I really hope to see tradition restored to a great, southern university. Hotty Toddy!

@MrTitanman29 HAHAHAHA my point exactly about the random ppl growing balls as soon as their fingers hit the keyboard. But furthermore, the fact that ONE black football player (who most Ole Miss students/fans have never even heard of) who had no problem with the mascot means nothing because the athletes (as a WHOLE) ALL agree that the mascot change was necessary. And second of all, if you're not an Ole Miss fan, then why the FUCK do you even care?? Now who's the fuck head?!
