At 1:14 the instrument is called a bombarde or in the U.S., bombard. Named that because they were often used in pipe and drum corps to lead soldiers into battle. Some say, humorously, that it bombards the ears. They are a double reed instrument that looks like a small oboe with a bell on the end. Small but quite loud. I think of them as an oboe with a bad attitude. Look up fest noz or other Stivell works on YouTube to get lots more music using this instrument.

Many thanks for this. After searching for 30yrs today I found this track again. Such fire and inspiration for the celtic peoples wherever they may be. Just beautiful, I'm in tears.
