ah! pullin out the good ole fashioned "the responsible noncorruptable bankers will 'run the economy' so as to maintain stability and prevent collapse" argument. i don't know if you are vaguely familiar with the history of fiat money, but paper doesn't have a very good track record.

"skilled driver" - Read: central planner. We are supposed to beleive that an all-knowing, all-benevolent monetary potentate will shephered we poor ignorant souls into the economic promised land. Free individuals simply can't be trusted and markets should not be free to self-regulate, apparently. Now we see the real nature of the beast.
