they fight by the 'warrior code', which essentially means it really is anything goes.... the essence of vale tudo, is that its a proper fight, there is no time limit, no round system, no rules on conduct, therefore you can do anything..... obviously they have to keep the fighters alive so the ref will intervien if it gets too messy, but otherwise all the fighters have to do is have fun.....

I wish we had this stuff in the United States. I always thought the UFC should get rid of the gloves and allow knees to the head when you take a man down! Such a powerful fight-ender.
