Pretty amazing stuff, you probubly dont have many chances in your life to be almost outrun by the ocean.
A lot of people are saying your stupid, but given that it wasnt the first time youd seen it happen that day, id assume you figured it wouldnt be too bad to run out there.

I didnt know that happened. The tsunami wearning thing said to evacuate Alameda, so me and my family went to Tracy. I skipped school, so that was cool too. :D Interesting though.

I have lived on Shoreline Drive for five years and NEVER seen the tide comes in that fast. It usally takes a couple hours for the tide to come in that fast. The surge came in 500 feet within the 3 1/2 mins. This was the sixth time that morning that the surge came in and out. It cycled every 30 to 35 mins.
I don't know if the surges had anything to do with the wind. I talked to a couple of people on the beach and they noticed that the wind picked up when the surges were coming in.
