i really dont care what batch are performing! all i know is that the himig singers are damn good! i heard them sing in jakarta, indonesia last november and i was mesmerized especially when they sang the pokpok muslim song? i was amazed how can a small group fill the whole competition room with wonderful powerful voices...kudos to the handsome conductor and powerful singers! job well done!

I grew up listening to the Himig Singers, and have always thought of them as the best choir their is. My sister and her husband are one of the original members of this choir, and their performances always give me goosebumps even now. Love them uber much. :D

i agree, some off keys in there. but these guys are really good, irregardless of batch.. sila yung naging grand champion sa NAMCYA way back early or mid 90s (mga 93 or 94 ba yon?). if i also remember correctly yung direk nila is a former madz member.. nagplace din skul namin nung tym na yun kaso nga sila yung grand champ..

Sabi ko nga si julius cesar.. tindig pa lang hehe. Schoolmate ko sya at ang iilan dito.. hay.. i think this was in mid-to-late 90's if im not mistaken.

this vid is quite old. i can still see Julius Cesar (the soloist) in the frame. Though i wasnt able to follow their US Tour, i was able to witness the explosive performance in Vienna, Austria and in Cantonegros, Spain where they awed international audience and hoarded awards from among the world's finest choir.

Well, sad to note that some of the members (seen in this vid) wasnt able to return to Davao and became TNT in the US (opps, gutter chismis hehehe)

I'm not a specialist, but I love this performance, it almost makes me cry, and I think that's what's the most important. I think the Himig singers just want people to really enjoy their performances and be touched by them. Tastes will always differ, so let's just stop discussing.
