Surinder Shinda (real name Surinder Singh Hunjan) is an Indian singer of bhangra music with traditional Punjabi roots, who is considered a "grandfather of modern Punjabi music",and has been described as "legendary".Surinder Shinda was born Surinder Singh Hunjan in a Ramgharia Tarkhan Sikh family. He hails from Ludhiana , Punjab. He was a colleague of the Punjabi singer Kuldeep Manak and has also taught music to the late Amar Singh Chamkila, Maninder Shinda, Shinda's son.
