These are photographs I took on 28 February 2009 of the National Building Museum in Washington DC. This museum used to be the office where Union veterans of the Civil War received their pensions (hence the bas reliefs of soldiers on its outsides). Inside is a magnificent hall with columns that is frequently the scene of major social functions (like Innaugural Balls). Adjacent to the museum is the National Law Enforcement Memorial (with statues of watchful lions and their cubs).

I took these pictures with my Canon EOS 50D SLR using a Tokina 12-24mm wide angle lens and a Canon L-series 24-105mm short zoom lens. I used Photomatix Professional 3 to do up the high dynamic range photos.
