@04EUone No. I am American. Sure, my ancestors are from Europe, but I am not. People over there NOW are European.

Okay, to be exact, Britain joined what is now called the EU. Pretty typical of the EU that you are a member of it without having joined it. ;-/
(Btw, already the Maastricht treaty in 1993 changed the EC into the EU. The name EC was used since 1967 as an umbrella term for EEC, Euratom and Coal&SteelComm.)

@ccd101 Well actually we joined the EEC in 1973 and confirmed in 1975. The Maastricht treaty changed the EEC into the EC and the Lisbon treaty changed it into the EU.

@tommybritain the euro hasn't done anything good for may countries, and its almost a dead currency.
