This is part of an excellent PBS documentary. I have closed-captioned it. I think that the attitudes that created this financial catastrophe are still prevalent in our (American) society and culture. See my other video. "Mortgage Madness" if you wish to compare.

  • history never repeats itself exactly twice.....there will be no financail

    nuclear winter.....sorry doomsayers.....just endless stagnation......

  • @babyboo1940 OH your right on target.

  • I have advocated for years after reading the bio-history of Carnegie, Frick and other baron kings of that era, and I found that what we are witnessing today is a almost scary duplication of what occurred during the 1929 crash. Greed, buying off politicians, backroom deals, etc., corporate owners laying people off in droves then rehiring workers for less pay. this country is a giant marketplace: buying and selling and profit is the only criteria.

  • How sad that the U.S.A. country no longer makes things. We're going down again hard and it will be a generation or more before we recover.

  • this is history, and all people should see this flim. thank you for posting this.
