After watching a documentary about solitary confinement and the effects it has on people I am not sure how I feel about it anymore.

  • There are a lot of people in prison that should be in prison, but there are a lot of people that never should have went to prison in the 1st place. That's step one in clearing prisons... stopping the rediculous sentencing in the 1st place.

Step 2 and 3 for those who get life should be like the movie Papillon. Put them on an island and let them survive on their own. Chips maybe in their head that will kill them if they leave the island. It's much cheaper then tax dollars and also gives them...

  • @Danbo342 Agreed many people in prison have no business being there. Your other ideas are interesting.

  • oh and small, correction you saying at the end... "locked 4 mnts...." well, they are locked 4 years, even decades... one guy was selling stolen computers and got only cupple y... so he is not some monster, regular guy lookni 4 extra cash, and he is 7, 8 Y alone in cel...

  • @vexnaex Thats sick to do to somebody.

  • i m loookin 4 that n.geo. documentary and i cannot find it anywhere. why?!? i`m from europe, and prisons are bit different here. and i just cannot belive that this is real... is it one more sick social experiment of your governmant...? no, i just refuse to belive that tihs is happening in 21.century.

  • @vexnaex I honestly don't remember if it is Nat Geo or it may have been a documentary I saw on prisons on Frontline. I used to smoke a lot so I don't remember at this point. Sorry. I am thinking it may have been a Frontline documentary which is a series carried on PBS in this country.

... some more freedom. I know I would prefer it if I were sentenced to life and some of these lifers only reoffend to be locked up in the 1st place.

They should also do like the movie "The Running Man". If someone is sentenced to death for instance they should give them an alternative of maybe being on such a game show. If they win/pass, they too are sent to the island or reduced to life basically. This all sounds crazy but I bet the prisoners would prefer it. I know I would!

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut Thanks for commenting. Glad to hear it is something you are writing about. The only way these things will change is if we expose what is going on in the criminal justice system to people around us.

  • Hey man, I watched the same documentary recently as well and I totally agree with you. I'm even writing about in my English class. Its wrong and needs to end.

  • @MysticEmergence Thanks a lot. Much appreciated.
