David Mack usually gives new fans some of his Kabuki comics for free. Maybe this was to break-even. Everybody wants to make money. Not like he needs it though. He's very successful with Kabuki and has the nicest model/actress girlfriend I have ever met. Fans needn't fear them. They are very approachable.

all you david lovers - have you actually met him in person? he's a jerk. i was a huge fan until i met him. also, later, a bunch of us spotted him buying his own daredevil comics, marking them up, and selling them the next day at his booth to make more money. im completely serious.

Hmm... I've meet David Mack several times and each time he always really nice & friendly. And every time I bought comics from him - he was offering a discount off the cover price. Sounds like your just bitter.

I had two seperate friends go to the Chicago Con. Not Kabuki or Mack fans, but they met him out there and both couldn't believe how nice the guy was...plus he gave them a ton of free, signed, comics and Reflections sketch books. Not to mention I doubt he has to resell his own stuff to make a few petty dollars.

are you serious? haha naw, I´ve ment him before and he is an awesome guy...maybe u just got him on a bad day, have you thought of that? Or maybe he just reacted like that towards you because you were a jerk 1st off. He was really nice to me...I mean, he didn´t offer me any discounts but he actually GAVED me some of his magazines and a poster. I think he is a genious and even if he was a jerk, I would still buy his books because he is just so damn good.
umm that´s all I have to say..

GAVED 'em to you, eh? lol sorry guys i didnt mean to like diss your hero or anything. don't get me wrong, I love his work. the man is a genius. I have met him two times though, Comic-Con '07 and '08, and he was really unfriendly both times. Maybe he just didnt like my face *shrugs* mandy amano was far more approachable and friendly.

I've met David and corresponded with him on MySpace on several occasions. He is an extraordinarily kind and giving person. Both times that I saw him at DragonCon he gave me several free signed comics, as well as a couple to a friend of mine that doesn't even read comics.
Perhaps there may have just been bad chemistry between the two of you...
