  • whos the trumpet soloist?..I like how he plays with that bent trumpet

  • That's Rick Kiefer

  • Another great Last arrangement...reminiscent of Stan Kenton's Afro-Cuban stuff. I have the latest two Last DVDs, which are fine but appeal to an older audience primarily. This, on the other hand, is some kick ass shit, man....super tight brass and rhythm sections cookin' all the way. Bravissimo!

  • Thanks for the comment - and this, my friend, is why I uploaded it! Excellent stuff..... only wish he would do this more often.

  • So many people have no clue how funky James Last can be, this is an excellent example..wooow..I wished I could have been there hearing it live

  • Yes, when he really lets his musicians go, no one does it better. I remember his version of "Theme from Exodus" feat. Derek Watkins on Trumpet - he never released it but it was mind blowing stuff!

  • i totally rock out to this song!

and i sing very loud, and pretend i was a diva with a feather boa on stage :)))

  • I would really like to know if anybody can recognize what organ his playing. Sounds awsome, but i have never seen it before.

  • I think his name is Rick Kiefer.

  • i blame the cut of trouser!!!

  • James Last the Best of the Best Forever. Superlast than`ks for this video.

  • THOSE HORNS ARE INCREDIBLE!!! ^_^

  • Oops, I meant Billy Jackson's Citizen Band. Billy Terrell was someone else in philly.

  • A nice version. My guess is he was inspired to do the standards (including Slaughter on Tenth Ave) because a lot of disco producers were doing dance versions around '75/'76. The Vast Majority did Love For Sale and 10th Avenue was done by Billy Terrell's Citizens Band, both in '76.
