Draco, my English Budgie, glows under a UV light. He glows more than some of my other budgies do, which probably explains why the females love him. Apparently, these type of birds can see this UV light and it does affect who they establish as a potential mate.

  • Where did you get a uv light!?

  • You can buy them in any pet store. They sell it where the urine removal stuff is for dogs and cats.

  • haha, yes that's very true that budgies see UV light.

    hes adorable :D

but does it hurt him the way you were holding him in the beginning of the video? It appeared he was being held tight..correct me if I'm wrong. Some things aren't what they appear :P

  • I held him relatively loosened up, but secure enough to not have him jump out of my hand. He was a bit miffed if I held him for so long by the time I got the camera recording. I wasn't fast enough and he lost his patience. LOL

  • how do you keep track of all there names??

  • All of them have a certain color, marking or trademark for me to remember them by easily.

  • Of course the Budgie's glows it's under a UV Light. The heading of this video say's "Budgies DO glow in the dark!" Naturally without any light source they DO NOT glow in the dark.

  • How cute ♥

  • Whoa thats really cool, yeah at the beginning he seemed pretty mad like ''GRR let go!!''. I cant beleive they glow, really cool!

  • Bet hes pissed @t you now, for holding him that way!! If you held ME that way, i would bite you in peices!

  • i have a budgie bird like hhow that budgie looks like but heis name is rupert

  • Draco is handsome!

  • That bird looked PISSED

  • @marsape why yes there is. I know alot about budgies and becuse the English are very bigger the Australia budgie and have more cheek spots hense there are two main types of budgies English & Australin.

  • No such thing as an english budgie, Buddies are all native to Australia, they are only green in the wild, like saying a tiger is an Australian tiger because it is born here.
