They menaged to make not only winning performances but even the medal unique and personal, beeing all the medals are slightly different. Great idea, fits to the Olympic spirit.

@anikinippon: the more traditional medals can be found at the summer olympics. the winter olympic medals gives room for creativity. in 1992 they have glass, franite in 1994, lacquer and color in 1998, the difference shapes resembling like a rock in 2002, the 2006 medal is supposed to be an ancient coin while they went for the undulating surfaces for the 2010 medals. winter olympics gives unique chances for artistry.

The Olympic medals have contemporary Aboriginal artwork to represent the location of the Olympics (Canada), it's not a grievance for native people. The whole reason for the artwork is for unity of the nations, as the artist stated in the video...if you would pay attention, maybe you would learn something. Otherwise, don't make comments that are contradicting.
