This video is to answer the concerns some people have expressed as to the rigidity of my design. The parts produced speak for themselves.
This is the original prototype and has a few issues that will be addressed in the production version.
For example, the feet were too short, allowing the printer to rest on the Z axis motors. The quick fix was to print the foot extensions as shown.
Also, the occasional squeaking is due to the Y axis belt pulley. Being a printed pulley, it is a little off center and makes the belt too tight on the high spot. I just received my order from McMaster-Carr with the machined pulley.
You may notice the heat sinks on the motors. These are used motors and get warm. My original Prusa Mendel has new motors and no heating issues.
