Here's a first look at my new hamsters! The person I got them from found them abandonned in a cage, near her house. There were three babies with their Mother, who has stayed with my friend, the only male of the litter went with another friend of mine and the two little females have come home with me! This is little female number 2( I haven't thought of a name for either of them, yet!)

  • Cute hammies! Our hamsters like yours get along together until one starts getting a little weak and then the dominant one will trap it from getting food and water to the point of keeping it from coming out of the house. Even removing the house didn't help, then the biting started. This has happened twice so far with brothers and even a mother and daughter.

  • Yeah, I'm away from home at work, each day, so I don't like to take chances with leaving them together, just in case one gets hurt.

  • i dnt know why people say they are 2 types of hammie (chinese it prob cos male have bigger **** and girls are just same but with no big rued bits lol my chinese hammie died dont get one the life expectancy is well small about 1.5 years stick to syrian and robos

  • I read somewhere that there are actually 2 types of Chinese hamster, but the one with the longer tail is much more common on the pet market...

  • chinese dwarf hammies !!! i have one of them ive got the deluxe starter at mo sme one gave the cage and hammie 2 me 4 free and i gonna get cosmo pod to add on !!!!!! hi 5

  • I've only ever owned syrians (I started out with them, when I was still a kid; great frist-time hamster!) Campbell's dwarf hamsters and Winter Whites...Someday I hope to try keeping Roborovski's Dwarfs and Chinese hamsters...I read somewhere that there are two types of Chinese hamster. Which kind do you have? Have they got the longer tail? What are they like as pets? You can't keep more than one in a cage, correct?

  • Were u get ur hamster

  • Dain how much hamsters do u keep in there???

  • I've never had a baby dwarf hamster escape through the bars of my cages, although I did have a small one escape one of the tubes, in the early days when I wasn't as experienced is setting these brand of cages up. With time, you will get used to it tho and you'll know how many tubes you can safely click together. And I actaully find the dwarfs easier to keep in Rotastak than the syrians. :) I don't think you'll have a problem with dwarfs and the bars of these cages, tho.

  • Hi there, just rescued a Robo Hammy, just a quick question ,cause they are so small, can they or have they ever got through the wire bars at the top of maze? Just worried as I am used to my big Syrians!! Thanks. Vici.
