The USS Enterprise NCC 1701 (Refit Model) Under construction in space dock a shuttle is going to fly by the Enterprise to inspect her new hull. So of course this model is not finished yet. There is no bit map over on the mesh. Every peice from the hull, Lettering, Lighting is all painted peice by piece. Every light is aluminated paint scheme. The Enterprise lettering is true text font that has been placed into the hull mesh. If you look very closely at the text you can see it is sticking up from the hull a little bit. This was to prevent the hull mesh showing through the Text mesh. Every light can be turned on or off. Yes I forgot to turn off the Impulse Engines and they are red. Sorry. The true color can go from dark unlit black to lit up red and I forgot so Please forgive me. The sensor dish is made with a Clear glass with the mesh itself cut to look realistic. The starfleet logo on the side of the Engineering section is made out of chrome. I had the shuttle pod fly past so you can see the reflection like the shuttle pod is look into a mirror. Yes everything that is painted on the Enterprise is reflective. When I was playing with paint scheme and reflective properties I couldn't help but think what would things look like if the Enterprise hull reflected its enviroment. So when camera testing on the mesh in the beginning of this model I liked the results of what being reflective. Now that the Enterprise is truelying in a propper space dock and a shuttle pod and space lab. Everything reflects nicely I think. In HD you can even see the space lab be reflected in the hull when the shuttle fly's by the torpedo section in the neck of the ship. The torpedo bay light up and fire torpedo's. Future plans. Since I am making up the improvements to this model as I go, I thought it would be neat to see the black vents on the warp neceals be a little translucent so you can see the matter and anti matter go to the warp engines. I also thought it would be cool to actually see the warp engines inside the black grid. So instead of them just turning blue you will see blue and yellow ball like parts light up to see matter and anti matter mixing to produce warp. Put simply the warp engines grid will be clear glass that will look black when the engines are off and when they light up your will truely see the engines them selves light up inside through the glass. The hidro ponics windows on the bottom front of the engineering section is made of clear glass. The blue prints show plants and stuff inside this area. So the windows are clear glass that will have a blue light in side with plants trees that you can truely see when the camera shoots in the windows. The shuttle bay will open and close with shuttle pods in the docking bay. So there is a alot of work to still be done on this model yet. But this give you a idea what my future plans are. More videos will come over time with more and more done on the model. Pictures will be provided also like before. I know this model isn't just like the one in the movies. I wanted to think out side the box and truely look at the old constitution class enterprise and this refit model. On the original there were no round windows on the bottom of the saucer. So to honor the origanel model my enterprise refit doesn't eaither. Unlike the movie I want little peices of the TV model to be found in my Motion Picture model. Also I am looking at what can be done with todays computers and programs to go way outside the box to make a real looking CGI model like it was hand made with wood and paint. The only way to do this is to make the CGI peice my piece and cut the mesh peices by hand to look like the Motion Picture model. Paint each peace. Total Mesh Peaces of this model are at 250 individual cut and moded. No peice is permently attached to each other. I can remove and replace any peice of the text, light, glass. The sensor array is made up of for peaces. The cone is one peace. The mesh is painted the hull colors. Then the cone was selected on the outside only to cut and raise the mesh for the outer glass. Then the out side and inside was selected to apply the glass texture. Then each mesh peace was selected when a total of 100 splines. Three splines togeather and ship two and three and so on until all the way around the cone. Then a bevel and indent was applied to the mesh. Then the inside of the mesh had to be applied the same way as the outside to apply the glass texture so light could shine through. Now the inside of the cone that changes colors was made. This was hard. Three designs were made. A bevel inner cone that didn't look right. Second was a half circle with indented bevels to give it tecture but one lit up too away from the glass text like in in the movie so third just a half cirlce cone that changes colors for the current results. Simple was better in this case. Well thats all for now. Thanks and have a blessed day.

  • Because of complaining and put downs from You Tube Subscribers this project has been put on hold. There have been many email to stop waisting my time and yours by working on this model and waisting time puting it to video. Most complaining is that this model doesn't resemble the true enterprise from Star Trek and all the extra's put on the ship is crap. I have been yelled at and swore at for demeaning Gene Roddenberry's Ship.

  • I recommend watching this video in High Quality to get the best detail of this video.

  • Because of requests and your replies I have decided to continue work on this model. I have had to start over on the engineering section do to program upgrades in the 3D modeling program that I am using. Keep an eye out for future videos. Thanks for all the support.

  • Don't you mean under reconstruction?

  • Apparently the nacelles and their pylons were being worked on, too--I don't see those at all.

  • Now this makes me wonder, how does 24th century spray paint work in outer space?

  • I think its awesome what you are doing. If others don't like what you are doing they can go create their own enterprise. Thanks for sharing.

  • its gorgeous

  • Mad props for using ST:V music. ST:V is WAY under rated.

  • If they don't like it, screw 'em. Let them build their own.

  • Hey, bub. If it doesn't look exactly like the movie version, it doesn't look exactly like the movie version. What matters is that you built it and you are happy with it. And from the sounds of it, so is everyone else. With 1 out of 8, sorry, 1 out of 9 not liking it.....

And to be honest, how many of these purists actually know about Star Trek? Look at all the shit they put Star Trek 11 through, saying it's not a "true" Star Trek, and how often have they been proven wrong? All the time.

  • @nightr1701 To hell with them. I say keep it up. I've been watching Trek my entire life. My dad raised me on it. My older brother is a Trekkie. I say not only does it look like the Enterprise, it's a better Enterprise than Abrams' ship from the last movie. Build her, let her fly, and give a nice double fisted finger to all the virgins and pathetic elitists out there who still hasn't taken Shatner's advice and "Got a life".
