Isa:28:10: For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Isa:28:13: But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

1Cor 2:9: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10: But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11: For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13: Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14: But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15: But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16: For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

  • I like to carry around 66 scrolls with me brother, when Im looking for that all important verse I just roll one out about 10' or so and whoa, it aint there, wait ill find it just give me a sec here...

    lol

  • Those poor OT doctors and scribes really had to know the book.

  • Those are some great tips. Thank you brother!

  • I can honestly say, that those references have helped me to better defend the faith on the road, when it's just you, and the party you are speaking with.

They have also served as an excellent reminder of those passages every time I start a new reading of the Bible.

  • thanks for this :]

  • I hope it was a help to you bro, and of course, prayer is a must.

  • A few years ago I was talking with a family member who thought it might be wrong to write in the Bible. I said if you are reading a verse and a verse from some other place in the Scriptures comes to you mind, look it up, write it in the margin, and over a period of time you will be amazed how the Bible begins to speak for Itself. When I checked back a year or so later I heard, "WOW, you were right."

One problem with this is that you may never want to get a new Bible.

  • "here a little, there a little"....why do you suppose that the scripts were scattered about like that? I believe there was a reason that it was done that way. I think the bible had been tampered with and all of it is not right but just some of it.

  • Completion of comment: As it is written: And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

  • But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

  • For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

  • great advice and encouragement

  • Sound words for a believer in any stage of their development. It does get easy to lose one's self when they grow, forgetting the simple things they can do to increase their wisdom and understanding of the Word. I have found myself in that boat more than once, and your advice comes as a refreshing reminder of what I should make a habit of practicing every day.

  • I really need to get one of those 'Note-Takers Bibles' someone told me about. Every other page is blank. I try writing in my Bible now and there's just not enough room. I have the hardback Nelson Study Bible, but it's falling apart after about a year and the margins are tiny.

God bless brother, You know how much I think of your ministry. These are great ideas and I'm going to work at them.
