This is my entry for moscomoon666's Healing Contest.

I felt this song was one of those bittersweet type of deals, so I chose it b/c at the time I felt like poopy, but at the same time I wanted to feel...not like poopy. (:
So here it is...
::Story//Plot::
What If... throughout the movie, there was a point where a bargain was made, setting off a series of events that eventually led to disaster.
Starting off, are the memories Rain had of Spirit and herself. They :instantly: fell for one another. However, blinded by her love for him, she was unable to pick up on the fact that he and the Colonel had made a pact with eachother. When she sees them both riding into her village, leading the rest of the army behind them, she comes to grips with reality that Spirit had been using her all along.
The battle is fought and Spirit leaves on the train with the other horses. It is then that he breaks down, overcome by his grief and disloyalty to Rain. Meanwhile, at the village, where hardly anything is left, Rain finds out the truth from Little Creek...that Spirit had been blackmailed into leading the army there. Colonel had threatened to kill Rain if Spirit didn't comply, and therefor, he agreed. Distraught, Rain runs away, knowing she must find Spirit before she loses him forever.
The horses are taken to finish off the railroad, Spirit being one of them (since Colonel had no other use for him at this point). Rain makes it there, catching not only Spirits attention, but also one of the men. Fearing Rain would be captured, Spirit lunges at the man, in turn, getting caught on the chains that hold him, and strangles himself. Rain sees this and cries out, but it's too late. She collapses and is left where she's at.
Nearby, Little Creek sees what's going on and waits for everybody to clear away. Once they're alone, he runs over to Rain, in hopes of saving her. But at this point, she's in limbo, where she imagines Spirit is her rescuer, coming over to save her. It's a bittersweet moment. Spirit wanted her to live, but he accepts her decision to pass on into his new world.
Little Creek understands what is happening, and just as the sun is setting, the eagle flys by, calling out to him.
((I made the Eagle a symbol of time))
The grey areas of the forest is when time is being changed. The Eagle flys to the Cimarron homeland, where a new generation is born.
Thusly, the story continues with a new hope, that maybe things would turn out different.

effects:
i tried to use very few effects in this, as it was more of a story, and by putting too many flashes and fades in it would take your attention away from the plot. (: hope that made sense. comments and critiques are welcome! just please be educated about what you say :D ((ie..."i dont like this song" well, there were 3 songs to choose from, and this is it so deal with it! haha))
Great story line! I did the Pueblo Sunset song too. Good luck in the contest! :)
