  • TBH, a lot Japanese people don't favor the perfect, straight, white american teeth. Because the rest of their lives in society are made so uniform, having crooked or different teeth are considered a way too portray yourself without stepping out of line.

But I agree, sometimes it gets a little out of hand.

  • thts only a little bit racist

  • @ILikeLipstick well, thailand is not an island nation. most phillippinos have a little caucasian blood in them due to the spanish colonization, and hawaii is a US state that has many ethic groups. kinda like what you were saying at the end, it probably has some to do with japan having pretty homogenous population since most japanese are ethnic japanese.

  • @bluemonolith88 Well Hawaii is an island nation. The Philippines are an island nation. Thailand is an island nation. But for some reason a lot of Japanese have those trademark teeth. I think it's just a gene that has been passed through the gene pool in Japan more than other places due to Japanese people marrying Japanese people who also have the gene.

  • @ILikeLipstick but i wonder why higher percentage of japanese have crooked teeth though, when compare to s. koreans for example. it's kinda same with UK. i think higher percentage of british have crooked teeth than french. the only thing i can think of is that it may have something to do with both UK and Japan being island nations. just wondering...
