In Washington D.C, a group of approximately 50 Malaysian nationals,
marched for a kilometre to the Malaysian Embassy to hand over a
memorandum echoing the 8 demands of Bersih 2.0 towards call free and
fair elections.

According to event organiser, John Lee the primary aim of the event
was to create awareness of the objectives of Bersih 2.0 and the
situation in Malaysia among those residing in the United States.

Arriving from various parts of the United States, they group armed
with colourful placards and a cheerful demeanour, attracted honks from
ongoing cars as a sign of support. The D.C Metro Police provided the
group with police escort as the group had earlier applied and been
provided with a permit for their march.

Once arriving at the embassy, the group gathered and sang the
Malaysian national anthem "NegaraKu" in front of the Malaysian
embassy. The group later posted the memorandum containing the 8
demands and signatures by all attendees.

  • free and fair election? I'm neutral in politics but do you guys have evidences that Malaysia have a corrupt election system? Maybe the opposition is useless like the government as well dont you think?

  • @ronnardk there is nothing wrong about Malaysia. What you should be asking what is right with Malaysia. Changing the goverment will not fix the problem. Most undeveloped countries (Malaysia is part of) abuse the system. The non bumis and non muslim don't love Malaysia because Malaysia don't love them. How are you going to resolve that? Look at US, the country treat every US citizen the same maybe they don't among themselves. US protects US citizens regardless race, religion & color.

  • @talk2stop exactly whats wrong with my country, Malaysia... The reason why people outside of Malaysia dont know the existence of Malaysia is because of all the extreme corruption and unfairness in this country... the country is growing fucking slow just because of the current government that ruled the country for over 54 years! the ones that are contributing most to the economy in the country are the chinese and the indians but the government is telling us to go back "where we came from"..

  • It took many Brave Men & Women to change course of history from slavery to freedom . Malaysia is still a young Nation -so hopefully one day we will have GOOD GOVERNANCE where the PM does NOT appoint Chief of Police IGP, the Head of Anti Corruption and the Chief Justice. As can be seen there can be abuse of power and even powerful Politician who is Child rapist and real Murderers /Crooks /Thieves of public funds are set free !!

Hidup BERSIH ! Thank you all for your support in US.
