My dad and some others together owned an Ag Cat back in the 70's and hired a pilot to fly it for crop dusting, I was just a kid but man I sure loved the sound of that engine, very unique and you could hear it take off from miles away if it was quiet outside. My favorite airplane! I even got to sit in it several times.

That brings back memories. I loaded a B-model with the 985 for my dad after finishing high school. Eventually he sold the plane and it sat for years at an airport in south GA next to an A model. Last time I checked, the N number didn't exist anymore. Hopefully somebody is getting some use out of it. It was a great plane.

I grew up in north la off hwy 165 between monroe and columbia. We called it cotton country down that way. I use to love to watch the crop dusters spray the fields. There was this one father and son operation not far from where I lived in riverton la owned by Jack and drew keahey. I may have misspelled thier last name but if you,re from down that way you know who I,m talking about. These guys could fly the hell out of those planes.

I'm from north La. and there are a few AgCats still flying around here. There is a cropdusting school in Rayville that will train you in one. They have the only two-seater I've ever seen. No monoplane is going to out-handle a Cat and they are a hell of alot more fun to fly. Alot of people are converting them to turbines, but I'll pass. There's just something about the sound of a radial engine at 5am.

I've loaded for Bob for the past eight years.He still has the old cats 2 turbines and one 600 thats retired for now.Slow and low baby!!

The Delta is still big on cotton. Last year was a huge corn year, but a lot of people are going back so beans this year.
