Jemaine Clement on location in NZ movie, Predicament, July 2009

Jemaine plays a disreputable character called The Spook in this adaptation of the fourth and last novel by the late Ronald Hugh Morrieson, to be filmed.
Regrettably, Jemaine was kept tightly under wraps for this media access session, so we only got to see him in one brief scene,and all requests for interviews were declined.
However, the director and other major actors were happy to talk and be filmed.
It's described as a comedy crime caper and Australian comedian Heath Franklin and musician Tim Finn also have roles.
The screenplay is by the director Jason Stutter.
The movie is due for release in late 2010.

A fair enough point you make. But this is going to be a terrific movie and I really don't think it will make a damn bit of difference to who buys a ticket; if anything it will stimulate interest in my view. Just put it alongside The Lord of the Rings for comparison or any other book-based movie. Most are preceded by a massive amount of pre-release info and speculation and it's all just part of the industry. Will I be on set again? I sure hope so.

Yes, what eorious said. Lots of people will probably not be reading the book before seeing this movie and won't like knowing that going in, that's all.

Otherwise, I agree that seeing the behind-the-scenes stuff was cool. Will you be on set again in the future?

In your introduction to the Hayden Frost interview, you reveal something that happens to one of the main characters. People who haven't read the book yet might prefer that to be a surprise. Thanks for sharing your behind-the-scenes footage though.

Dude, a spoiler warning might be prudent here as that is a HUGE spoiler you have written out at 1:16.....not everyone has read the book.
