CHAPTER 46
Hannah's POV
"So, what did Joe think about the dress?" October asked me while we were waiting for our drinks at the bar.
"Well, my boobs are practically falling out, so obviously he LOVED it!" I grinned, nudging at Joe, who was looking a teny tiny bit unsatisfied talking to Nick.
"So that's why he's been standing in a corner staring down any guy looking at you!" October said.
"I guess the plan is working then!" I simply smiled, taking a sip of my freshly mixed drink.
"Oh look out, guy coming this way! Let part two begin!" October said as she fled the scene while I braced myself for impact.
"How about I pay for that?" the guy asked, flashing a 100-dollar bill. He wasn't that bad looking, but God he sounded like a tool.
"No habla ingles!" I said, in my best Spanish accent. I knew taking Spanish in high school would come in handy one day.
"Okay," the guy sighed. "Uhm I?" he said, pointing at himself. "Pay for your drink?" he pointed at his money and then my drink. I nodded stupidly, while subtly trying to get Joe's attention. He, however, was just smiling at me, enjoying the predicament me and my dress had gotten ourselves into.
"Me, Clay." He said, pointing at himself again. No, you Tarzan! He stared at me with anticipation. Oh right this is where I'm supposed to go: me, Jane!
"Sophia," I said, that could be Spanish, right?
"Well nice to meet you Sophia!" Clay said, extending his hand.
"Obrigada!" I said, crap I think that's Portuguese. Clay didn't notice however. He was too busy trying to sign a new question for me.
"I'm so sorry babe!" I suddenly heard Joe's voice say and felt his arms around my waist. "The cabdriver took a wrong turn."
"Quién es usted?" I said, hoping it meant something like 'who are you?' while staring awkwardly at Joe.
"Eh, what?" Joe asked confused.
"No habla ingles!" I told Joe as I wiggled out of his grasp. Okay I might have sent Joe a glance or two begging him to come help me earlier, but that kind of lost its appeal when I noticed how much he was enjoying watching me suffer.
"She doesn't speak English!" My knight in shining amour aka Captain Obvious aka Clay clarified. "And seriously man, I saw her first!"
I looked at Joe and nodded. Clay did have a point - sort of.
"Okay then. I'll be right over here." Joe said. "In the corner," he added as he pointed to where he had been standing just moments ago.
"Finally alone." Clay smiled, touching my upper arm. Okay, creepster. I think you've reached my limit.
"Te odio y usted es un cretino!"
"You language is so sexy," Clay purred. I insult you and you think I'm hot?
"I," I said, pointing at myself. "Go now!" I added in a thick Spanish accent.
"Nonono! Don't go. We were just getting to know each other."
"I hrave a broyfrriend,"
"Come on! Don't be a tease!" I'm about to lose my cool here Clay!
"Tease? Are you seriously calling me a tease?"
"Wait, you speak English?"
"Stay on subject here! When did I ever lead you on?" I asked angrily.
"Five minutes ago!" he tried.
"All I was doing was trying to buy myself a drink and now you are calling me a tease!?"
"I didn't mean it like that..." Clay mumbled embarrassedly.
"That's what I thought," I said victoriously. Clay just stood there, looking at me as if he was waiting for my permission to leave.
"You can go now!"
This night was so not panning out the way I planned it. Stupid plan. Now where did Joe say he went?
"I don't want to do this anymore," I told Joe, with an exaggerated pout.
"Excuse me?" Joe asked confused.
"This stupid prank war. It's too hard. I don't even care if you get bragging rights or whatever. I just want to you to hold me and stop me the next time I try something stupid!" Joe smiled and opened his arms wide up, pulling me close.
"Do you really think I'll be able to stop you, babe?" A smile spread across my face.
"Nope," I said before connecting our lips in a sweet, longing kiss.
