@McDaidUSA i don't think the song blames the soldiers, but points to the irony of war, the soldiers are all just people like you n me: ; many nationalities and religions ,brothers, fathers ,uncles , and now sisters ,mothers ,aunties as well

Unfortunately I don't think blaming the soldiers for going to war is helpful. Better blame the businessmen that pull the strings on the politicians that tell the generals what to do. The government drafts the soldiers who have no choice in the matter.
