The protocol is not a good time to do any type of strenuous activity. Most of the time your body will let you know when you are overdoing it either by muscles getting tired quickly or even no weight loss the next morning.

They say if you aren't exercising regularly before the diet, don't start. Also, I've heard potassium really helps with the first few days with regard to the headaches. And Yerba Mate tea will help with the diet coke withdrawals, too. And glucose tablets if your blood sugar gets too low.. I've heard these symptoms disappear after the first week, so hang in there!

You have plenty of fat to use for energy to do your running. 45 Minutes 3x a week is great. You have to be in good physical shape.
