  • America is producing 1/4th of the worlds CO2, while only representing 1/24th of the world's population.

Not only that, current administration is largely ignoring the issue.

Being an american himself, I think he has EVERY REASON to question his own countries policy.

If we can't get America on the 'bandwagon', what makes you think China will ever get on?

  • I guess that is because he is american and is talking domestic policy...it's what he wrote his book about.

  • Don Blankenship Ceo of Massey Energy is a mountain raping coal licker

And he will burn in hell

  • The value of coal in the ground before it is mined is a value conferred on it by humanity as a whole. When it is mined there is a cost in terms of labor and capital employed and when it is brought to market the price reflects that cost of extraction AND the value conferred on it by humanity. Coal companies deserve to paid for their actual costs but the rest of its market value is our creation that we give away. They pay a bit of tax but we could take back 100% of the value we create. End of coal

  • The ash can be re burned with new technology.

  • James Hansen, a top climate scientist, says stopping coal is the most important thing we can do to stop global warming.

  • He keeps referring to "America" but this is a GLOBAL issue - China opens more new coal-fired power stations every week which emit more CO2 than the whole of a small first world country (New Zealand) does in a YEAR.

I like this guy's succinctness and acuity. Will buy.
