I just watched Hogan vs Macho King Randy Savage (RIP) from 'THE MAIN EVENT' feb 23, 1990 ( ultimate randy savage collection dvd ), which is just about 1 month before wrestlemania 6.

Buster Douglas is the guest ref. and holds the belt up for the cameras before the match, and the belt is still clearly dual-plated.....

so, it definitely goes all-gold either at WM6 or shortly there after, because every pic i have seen of the Warrior with the belt, it is the all gold version.

@Hazardf5 after watching your vid, and discussing with you, i began going through my dvd's to find an answer.

i found, hogan definitely has the dual-plated belt up until survivor series nov23rd 1989. i can't get a very good look at what he is wearing at royal rumble 1990, since it is only seen during an interview and only the top portion of the belt. i beleive it is still dual-plated at a SNME in Jan1990 when hogan teams with warrior against perfect and genius, but not 100%. WM6 looks gold 2 me

@tomlott the all gold one may have debuted at WM6, I never saw the run up to the H v W match so I wouldn't know if it appeared in the rivalry leading up to the match

@Hazardf5 im watching hogan vs macho WM4, and macho is still wearing the dual plated belt.

hogan continues wearing it through 1989.

as far as i can tell, there are 3 variations of the winged eagle; dual plated with no black paint on the word' heavyweight' ( debut on SNME when andre wins it from hogan and still when macho winning it at WM4 ). dual plated WITH paint on the word 'heavyweight' ( debuts some point during macho's reign ), and all gold with black paint on 'heavyweight' ( WM6? ).
