Plastics and polymers can now being made into solar panels. They can be made to be light, easily manufactured, and easy to carry around. But, they need to be more efficient and cheaper. To do this, one needs to know just how and why the best plastic test solar panels work . Many scientists around the USA are pursuing the basic research to make this happen. This video shows how *we* are making it happen at the UMass Amherst Energy Frontier Research Center "Polymer-Based Materials for Harvesting Solar Energy" (PHaSE).
