  • While I am not trying to convey that I think Lady Gaga is a respectable musician... Pop and similar simpler music really isn't comparable to ELP... More of a totally different beast. Some of it I can respect for it's creativity or emotion but there isn't any use in comparing it to the more artistic, deeper and completely different world of progressive rock and other similar genres.

  • The Jimi Hendrix of the keyboard - getting amazing feedback by 'punishing' the instrument, but as a classically-trained pianist, if you listen to his studio work on ELP's first four albums, you will realise Keith was classically-trained to a high level. This crazy showmanship was begun by 1920s (mainly French) modern classical composers. Emerson basically blended Bach, Mussorgsky, Bartok, Janacek, Oscar Petserson, Herbie Hancock in his amazing original compositions. Rock music true classical of

  • @genuineforce Keith Emerson is one of the greatest players of organ af his time, but like everybody in the '60-'70 liked to destroy his instrument just to "entertain the pubblic, if you listen to his studio work or mor recent work, there he will play for real.
