i mean i agree nikon is behind with video but that's not what you get an SLR for.

@xiaoquan yeah, I do know about the new Sony sensor being put on D800, I just don't understand why did Nikon come back into the pixel war... it is kind of useless for me except they can tweak the S/N ratio, cuz usually I'm an indoor photographer that is why I choose Nikon. But IDK what's with Nikon, guess they do have some plan in their marketing.

@eisstudentsasawat Yup it ended. Rumors are already pretty sure than the New d700 replacement will use Sony's newest FF 36 megapixels sensor. Tell that to NIkon.

As long as sony keeps increasing their MP, like the 24Mp A77. Nikon have no choice but to wag its tail, suck their thumb and follow Sony's sensor design. Unless Nikon source for other sensor's makers.

Fyi, i use Nikon D7000. Sony and Nikon is starting to compromise each other line up of DSLR. I wonder what will become of Nikon.

@xiaoquan Sorry but no offense, the pixel war era ended many years ago (except for studio projects), with more than 10MP you can print a nice pic on an A4 size which most people would rarely print at all.

The advantage of bigger size pixel is more than just increasing S/N Ratio, but it also make a better dynamic range.

D700 is design for sports, it is obviously should be faster than 5D MKII that is mainly for studio, not fast actions.

Each camera has pros&cons so choose it according to your job.

@eisstudentsasawat Look at Dxomark between 5D mark ll vs D700. The D700 only won in low light not by much.

Plus! take note that D700 only got a 12mp sensor vs 5D 21Mp! Lower Pixel tends to have better iso performance.

but, Just a slight increase in ISO performance vs almost half MP lose in detail! Give me the 5D!

Just wait and see when sony stop producing sensor for Nikon. Nikon is already lost their no.2 spot in UK to sony. Just wait and see Sony taking over Nikon is other market.

Moron.. DSLR are meant for photos, not videos..

Mid range cannon dslrs dont have the top LCD, AF motor etc.. what  photographers need most.. Nikon rocks in low light, HDRI, Continuous shooting..etc..

and the d7000 is better than many canon-fullframe-dslrs...
