Your Awesome You seem to be exactly what I am ,an outdoors man who cannot take when an animal is in distress over human created situation. Now if an animal is sick or dying I might take it to the vet but nature is nature. I have a duck in my back yard that flies back and forth the lake so I can get within 1 foot of it and it takes off she will not walk because her legs are so tangled. she just had 24 ducklings too and I don't think she can be that much of a teaching mom until that is off

I'll also be taping my rescue... it's a goal of mine now....It's been a few days but now she's warming up to me with bread and I guess a good tip of yours is to strike when she's not facing you. This case she knows it's coming every time

@Wildrsq Thanks - Found out yesterday that video might not be an option because it's incredibly hard by my self over here. So the bad thing is she has killed 11 of her 24 babies over 3 days..when she lays on them she is crushing them and she knows it and won't let me near her...bread works but she knows what's next and flies. New remedy is my custom 25 foot skinny pole I'm going to slide under her while shes eating to hold her down and make it extremely quick to pounce. I don't want to hurt her

@Jeepacreepah01 I use a tripod to film most of my videos. Good luck with the rescue.

I have the same exact situation with a goose on the lake where I live -- the goose has a fishing line around its legs and is jumping on one leg. I wondr if I can do the same thing. I'm just concerned (afraid) it might come at me or something.

@KhalSyr Dont be afraid, the goose's life might depend on you . I have more than 10 different goose rescues on here and if they ever came at me it would make it much easier :). Make sure that you can control the wings, they are the only thing that can hurt you. Good luck, let me know if you get him.
