I can tell you with some authority that for stingray leather, the "melting test" is irrelevant. How do I know? I make them! It is extremely difficult to cut, the method by which manufacturers "cut" a template for a stingray wallet is by MELTING the skin with a metal template!.If your stingray wallet DIDN'T melt, it would be more of an indication that it was fake! Stitching is also done by a super hot needle. Hope you haven't thrown it out :) it is most likely genuine.

the design (the white part) is bigger and more exagarrated from the real one. look at the link with the guy that purchase a burgandy one and see the difference.

How does lighting a match to it determine its authenticity? I am looking at buying a stingray wallet on line and well I would like to know if I am buying an original wallet and not an imitation stingray.
