  • To all those that want to set up an web server, keep in mind that if you want an public website, you must have an public IP address, NOT INTERNAL, private addresses like 10.x.x.x/8, 172.16.x.x/16 or 192.168.x.x/24! I had a hard time finding out that, I know server pretty good, but no one told me that I need PUBLIC IP addresses... I found out that the hard way.

  • I am following your video series on setting up the web server and it's awesome, thank you. I am having problems seeing the webpage from my Internet browser on my Vista workstation. I keep getting an error that its the firewall, so I enabled all the ports that you mentioned... still no go. Went to the advanced settings for the firewall, changed those to public for those ports... still no go. Any help would be appreciated thanks :D
