Kira Nerys undergoes the Bajoran Rite of Separation

Star Trek fans (or fans of any series) generally like continuity. If writers establish something as part of Star Trek history or lore then future writers should respect it and not contradict that establish fact as by respecting canon you end up respecting the series and it's fans.

However sometimes its better to just ignore establish history when the episode or concept is garbage. In "Let He Who Is Without Sin..." it was establish when Bajorans break up they undergo the rite of separation where they sleep around with other people as well with each other so that they can break up with a bang.

Later on in 'Children of Time' it was announced that Kira broke up with Shakaar. Thankfully the writers decided to avoid showing the rite of separation for Kira which avoided character assassination.

However I'll now try to fill the void and speculate what happen during that period.

Unfortunately Odo missed out on the action.

because during the rite of separation. Kira manage to get on with Sisko, O'brien, Grand Negus, some love slaves, Ezri dax, bashir, riker. Virtually the entire DS9 cast except for Odo

Poor Odo, he missed out bad there.

I understand Intendant Kira was an Hedonist. No reason our Nerys didn't have some of that
