Open Canopy During Flight - Red Bull Air Race Interlaken

The Red Bull Air Race World Champion from 2006 -- Kirby Chambliss -- had to abort his first qualifying run during Red Bull Air Race in Interlaken 2007, Switzerland, because the cockpit canopy opened up.

"We don't know the exact reason yet. What's most probable is that a cable from my headset hit the opening device during take-off. It wasn't a big problem but I had to return to the hanger," an angry Chambliss said when back on the ground.
