Three Beat Weave Part 1

Lesson Type: Beginners

Prerequisites: Two beat weave

Alternate naming: 3btw

The three beat weave is an essential component of your poi twirling move-base. It'll be used a lot, so you should learn how to do it well. Here is a very comprehensive tutorial on how to do so.

As per usual, should you be having difficulty with this, post a video response and I'll help you out.

Hey Nathaniel, I'm not sure if you check these comment anymore, but I have a question? Do you think I can use these tutorials with glowsticking too?

@RaverDudeSkittles Yeah, I still reply to any questions people have, unless they've been asked already.

Hells yeah you can do all these moves with glowsticking too. Glowsticking is pretty much the same as poi, except you're using glowsticks, so any poi moves you learn can be applied to glowsticking/stringing also.

after watching this video and the 2 beat wave video i went from barely being able to do a 2 beat wave with my right hand on top to doing a 3 beat wave in a matter of hours thanx for the vids will deffinately pass them on to who ever wants to learn how to spin poi

I want to thank you Nathaniel for the amazingly helpful videos. I've been interested for several years yet, never encouraged myself to seriously become involved. I built my own practice poi and that day I was able to successfully and repetitively achieve lessons 1-4. I am having trouble with Wall, ceiling, and floor planes however. Any ideas?

@Syphertr83 My advice would be not to worry about ceiling and floor planes yet, as control of these planes and trasitioning cleaning within them is quite difficult. As for wall plane, watch my reels tutorials for an introduction on how to get started with gaining control in the wall plane.

Hey Nathaniel! Thanks for this tutorial! It took me a while to understand how the 3 beats were different than the 2 beats, then I realised I'd been doing it the new way the whole time and never even realised! The only problem is, now I can't do 2 beats anymore - my hands automatically move into the 3 beats rhythm! :D Thanks a lot mate - I'm making my way through the tutes!

so the three beat wave is like a two beat wave but moving constantly? if not.... i think i learned the 3 beat wave in the 2 beat wave by mistake ^_^" hehe

whats the difference between crosses, the 2 beat and 3 beat weave? probably sounds like a dumb question but i just dont see it...

@RaverDudeSkittles Yes you can use this in glowsticking. My brother taught me that way, that's how i got the two beat wave.
