If you have DD-WRT installed on your compatible router, I will teach you how to turn that router into a client bridge. What this means is that if you have two routers in the house, you can have the primary router connected to the modem in the basement, and then have the secondary router connected in the game room to the primary router wirelessly.

No need to buy special adapters for the PC or game consoles!

  • hi there please help i only have the client option and not the client bridge

  • @testaccount552 It is there in dd-wrt, it must be.

  • So no wires, right? Do I need to change any settings on my primary, ex. mode, router? I was told that I would have to set my 2wire as bridge mode then connect dd-wrt wirelessly, or could I leave it the way it is? Thanks dexterity, I have sought help from other youtubers and ur the only one to respond. Everyone wants views but dont want to put in the work :-) . Thanks I will keep trying.

  • @hemplined 110% no wires man. You leave the primary router alone. If you thought you had to touch it, well, that is incorrect. You leave the 2wire alone (if that is the primary router). Now you take the dd-wrt router, turn that into bridge mode, and have it connect to the primary router as a client, just like in the video. I've worked way too hard for you guys to suffer. You got a router that has DD-WRT, so that is half the battle! Enjoy! - Versatile

  • @gamedexterity I seem to be able to get to the point in vid. when your router resets, mine tries to connect to the settings page and it comes back as not able to connect, internet, Also I did a site survey as my network was not visibly connected, joined to my network, which came back successful but if I open a page internet does not connect. Any other suggestions? Man do I appreciate your help, I feel like I am like so close, what about doing a default settings reset?

  • @hemplined When it resets, make sure you are typing in the correct login to get into the dd-wrt router. You are so close, you have a router that is dd-wrt compatible, so you are just messing up on the settings i believe.

  • @hemplined Leave the 2wire as primary. Use bridge on dd-wrt linksys router. Make it join the 1st router, just like in the video, and that should be it. Installing DD-WRT is half the battle. You are so close!

  • dude, do i need to connect the routers to each others before doing all of this, sorry i have never attempted this before, and i have a 2wire as primary and linksys wrt160n w/dd-wrt. I have even gotten to the end but mine never rebooted, but i was trying to connect it wirelessly not wired with the first one, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
