reupload as end of last video got cut off...

Just a selection of clips of holly being general holly. probably more for my benefit to show what she was like when i first got her, and prove that i did it once so there is nothing stopping me doing it again.... no way am i giving up;

i've been asked if i'll sell her if she keeps doing this, and the simple answer is no. i am not backing down. i've done it before, i'll do it again. but also- holly will always have that naughty streak in her, and i love her for that.

i am fully aware she is a fresh, 5 yo as soo many people have pointed out as if i'm a retard- but shes taking it to the extreme now, and is putting me in serious danger.

i had a lesson yesterday, in which we managed 3circles of walk before she exploded. we couldn't get her to move away from the fence- she'd rear, land, rear, land, rear, land. as she reared and got to the top of her rear, she'd then buck. taking things to a whole new level.
my instructor told me to get off, before she threw me off; she was genuinley trying to throw me off.

i don't care what anyone says, or any "advice" they try to give me- we are not going to "beat" her. both my instrcutor and i have agreed if we did that the chances are she'd try and kill me. my instrcutor then did some ground work with her int he school, in which holly reared in her face and tried to kick her... however, after around 15 mintues she was like a donkey.

so, its going to take time, and probably means i wont be competeing for the rest of the year, but we'll get there...
the last 3 photos are from a centaur photoshoot i had just before my op

  • you've probably tried this but have you tried lunging her to get all of her nergy out of her and then just ride her for about 15 minuets at the end, if she cant be bothred to try and throw you off then she might just realise it isnt too bad after all :)

  • @charlierider96 shes just as dangerous/worse to lunge! we have to just do close contact work or she tries to double barrel you in the head- and means it!

  • the offer is still there hun xx if you wanted me to come xx you will get there !! xx

  • @JazzCiceroCasper i have been meaning to speak to you chickk!!! we're going to give it a couple of weeks working on the ground and gradually building things up again, but then i will definitely be in need of your assitance <3 xxx

  • Good on you for not giving up, best of luck with her i'm sure you will get there again and when you do it will be so worth while! x

  • wow wonderfull pictures at the end and good riding.

  • snap! mine does that tooo!

  • gosh, you've done so well to persevere with her & to sit some of those bucks and rears, i know this vid is quite old now, i hope things have improved for you both now :) xx

  • Wow, you're a great rider. Good luck with her comeback, she's a very spirited, beautiful girl so I do hope you get there!

  • stunning photoshoot by the way! :') from your latest video she is already improving!x

  • (cont.) them bottom of the herd and take them down a peg or two. IN nearly every case it helped change the horses attitude. They didnt become angels over night, but being told off by another horse seemed to help them understand the concept of discipline and doing what theyre told and accept that its not always possible to have their own way. its a risk as you dont want horses to get injured but thats very rare as most youngsters get the message fairly quick from an older horse. hope that helps.

  • this is a bit random, i have no advice on how to help with her ridden, it seems to me that your doing all you can and more and are doing a good job as well :) but as for her behaviour on the ground, have you tried turning her out with another horse who will get on her case a bit?? I Know people who have struggled with horses who are very dominant and excitable and theres no way as a human you can take them on. so they turned them out with another bolshy horse who will defo make (cont....)

  • she looks like such a high energy horse! can't imagine how you stay on haha! do you have any idea why she's like that? i literally held my breath when she jumped off her back legs as she reared!

  • and i thought i was going through hell with flute! you've done so well bronia and you must be feeling awful but i know you are capable of making holly as amazing as she was before your op, she's a baby and she is probably thinking she is the best! stay with her! i have faith! you need any help let me know <3 xx
